Web: The paper, foil, film or other flexible material, that form a roll. As it moves through the machine, in the process of being formed, it is the area in which is printed, converted, or in application, it is the area that we “rewind.”

Winding Labels: The direction of the web in relation to the dispensing feeder plate. Labels should be wound to dispense the labels in the correct position to the product at the peel blade tip.

Wiper: The act or material parts used to apply pressure and smooth out the label after application. Also referred to as Flapper, Wipe Down, and Foam Pads.

Wrinkling: Creasing of the face material, liner or both together.
